Can you convert a landline phone number into a prepaid cell phone?

phone number
mrjohntesh asked:

Here’s the deal. I want to take my home landline phone number, and get a prepaid cell phone from somewhere like Circle K. Can I have my landline phone number switched (disconnected) and become that phone? I know it works for cell phones, but not sure how it works for a prepaid. Do they come with a number already attached? Thanks. Serious replies only!

What does a phone number in the following format indicate?

phone number
Barkley Hound asked:

Phone numbers in the US have the following format.
(XXX) YYY-ZZZZ
I have received text messages from numbers that are 1YY. Normally you will never see a 1 as the first digit of the exchange. I believe that these are internal numbers used by the phone company. Can anyone confirm that or tell me what the number means?

How do you keep your old phone number with a new cellphone?

phone number
netosam23 asked:

I changed my service from Virgin Mobile to T-Mobile, and I want to keep the same phone number I have. How do you do this? I called Virgin Mobile for my account number, but they are claiming my account number is the same as my Vkey, but I doubt this is right. How do you get to transfer your old phone number to a new phone? Thanks in advance.

How do I program my phone with my number?

phone number
neverneverland asked:

My verizon wireless envy phone (the one with the mini keyboard) broke last week. Until I got sent a new one, I used a regular, basic flip phone from verizon which they programmed my phone number into. Now I have the new envy phone, and I don’t know what to do. Can I program my phone number into this new phone on my own? If not, where am I supposed to call or what am I supposed to do? I tried looking on the website, and it was not clear to me… Thanks!

How do you transfer a cell phone number from one phone to another?

phone number
Nick L asked:

I just bought a new cell phone from verizon, and my old cell phone is also from verizon. I know you can go to verizon and they can transfer your number from the old phone to the new one, but is there a way I can do this myself? I won’t be able to go to verizon anytime soon so if there’s another way I can transfer my number without actually going to verizon, I would REALLY like to know how I can. Thanks!

I have a BlackBerry 7290 and I want to sell it on Ebay but my phone number is set to the phone. I was wondering how you could make it blank and just a plain phone without the number.

How do you change your phone number with t-mobile?

phone number
ohemgeelaffable asked:

A few weeks ago, I lost my phone which was a prepaid service in t-mobile and now that I have a new phone, I want to use the same phone number that I had in the last phone but on a different/new phone. Is there anyway that I can change my new phone number and transfer the old number to the new phone? Is there a fee? I am also still using the t-mobile prepaid service as well. That way, the lost phone will be useless and I can still use the old number for the new phone!

Is it possibly to use your home phone number remotely from a cell phone?

phone number
WayneRooneyRocks13 asked:

I am away from home a lot, yet I use my home phone number a lot during my business (to gain the second number). It would be a great help if I was able to use my home phone number away from home, through my cell phone. Are there any convenient devices that allow me to do this?
