Phone Book of Cell Phone Numbers

Cell phone numbers are almost impossible to find. However, by using the National Registry of Cellular Numbers, you will also have access to more information than just a cell phone number: you will have access to all sorts of public records. With the NRCN, you will probably find more than you ever expected possible.

What does a phone number in the following format indicate?

phone number
Barkley Hound asked:

Phone numbers in the US have the following format.
(XXX) YYY-ZZZZ
I have received text messages from numbers that are 1YY. Normally you will never see a 1 as the first digit of the exchange. I believe that these are internal numbers used by the phone company. Can anyone confirm that or tell me what the number means?

Finding a Person’s Cell Phone Number is Easy to Lookup

It's most likely that you won't find a cell phone number listed in any phone book unless the person recently had their landline phone number ported over to a mobile phone. The reason cell phone numbers are not listed publicly is because cellular phone numbers are considered private information and protected by privacy laws.

How do you keep your old phone number with a new cellphone?

phone number
netosam23 asked:

I changed my service from Virgin Mobile to T-Mobile, and I want to keep the same phone number I have. How do you do this? I called Virgin Mobile for my account number, but they are claiming my account number is the same as my Vkey, but I doubt this is right. How do you get to transfer your old phone number to a new phone? Thanks in advance.

How do you dial an international phone number?

phone number
Edward T asked:

I have a letter from an international source. I am given the phone number of an individual I am to contact, but when I dial that number, I don’t get through. The number looks like this: 011 34 616 389 000 (this is not the actual number, but it is in this format). I know the number is for a location in Spain. I’ve tried dialing a zero in front as well.

Not too long ago I received an email (and have deleted the email :-( ) saying something about a way to get a phone number for free rather than calling 4-1-1 and being charged. Does anyone know the number?
